What’s On on Watson

April 5th, 2011 § 2 comments

It takes all types of restaurants to feed this world and What’s On Eatery in Watson Street, Cape Town, hits the home-from-home spot. Surrounded by office blocks, they have a deli downstairs that caters for hungry worker bees who either collect take-outs or have them delivered to their desks. In my not too distant past I worked across the street from What’s On and this little dish would have featured in my lunch week:

Prawn, chorizo and saffron risotto

Upstairs is more plush yet playful, with a VIP Private Dining Room for food-friendly meetings away from the office. Or for a special little dinner party. Owner Trevor Jordaan is passionate about the hospitality industry and his aim was to create home cooking with a tad more panache than ouma would have made it. I love the view from the top floor – twin towers Cape Town-style…

Open for breakfast and lunch, Monday to Friday from 7am – 4pm, and for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday. Contact Trevor at 021 422 5652.
